USC's two biggest questions going unanswered

08:17 AM ET 03.07 | For now, the discussion has been tabled. Two of the biggest issues regarding USC's offense in 2013 -- who will call plays and which quarterback will execute those plays -- apparently won't be determined until the fall. The Trojans opened spring practice Tuesday and were on the field for roughly 2 1/2 hours. Sophomore quarterbacks Cody Kessler and Max Wittek took the bulk of the snaps, but the Trojans also worked in freshman Max Browne, who graduated from high school early in order to play spring ball. ... [Head coach Lane Kiffin], who has called plays throughout his three-year run as coach, said he hadn't decided who will handle those duties in the fall.

This is a "Non-story"!!! How many HC's decide who their starting QB will be in the spring, especially when you lose a senior starting QB to the NFL???

Not many. But the real story is that Kiffykins doesn't have a play caller yet. This is going to be a disastrous season in Compton

Not really. Kiffin is the play caller. Would be surprised if he turned the reigns over to Helton. Or anyone else for that matter.

ummm, is that a good thing? Thought he was looking to offload playcalling, but I don't follow USCw all that closely.

piratey, you are correct when you say that it could be a "disastrous season" on the USC campus!!! The USC campus is "NOT" in Compton"!!!!!! Regardless, it was USC's defense last year that let them down!!!! We will see in the fall what QB will be talking most of the snaps for USC!!!! :-)

I don't get why you guys keep defending Lane...

The same way you defended BK his "first two years" at ND!!! :-)

Compton is 13 miles from USC's campus. The distance from one end of Ann Arbor to the other is 12 miles.

Yeah, I'm aware how far Compton is from the USC campus!!! 13 miles is a long ways!!! You stated that "This is going to be a disastrous season in Compton" and I didn't know exactly what you meant!!!

QUOTE(#15):

Because BK is a proven winner everywhere he goes. 2 Div2 National championships. Won the MAC at a school that hadn't done so in 20 years. Won the Big East twice and went to back to back Orange Bowls, including taking his team undefeated while he was coach. He also inherited a 2* QB named Tommy Rees to run his offense...

piratey, I agree with your comment as of "today", but did you feel the same way toward BK, in his "first two years" at ND??? For some reason, I remember you, wanting BK's head after his second year of HC at ND??? Am I wrong???

QUOTE(#16):

Kiffy on the other hand, has been an abject disaster at every head coaching stop he's made. He's left steaming craters in both Oakland and Knoxville. He's a loser.

Yeah, I have to agree with this comment, but he actually wasn't all that bad in Knoxville for one year!!!! He had the best won/loss record for the Vols, since 2007!!!

Okay, then we will just have to wait until September, to see how long LK last. As I have stated many times before, if LK doesn't go at least 9-4 and win the South this year, he is going bye-bye!!!
