Noel part of the Jets' problems?

08:21 AM ET 03.07 | Winnipeg's upcoming stretch of games, beginning Thursday night, may wind up defining Claude Noel as a head coach -- particularly after what he said in the wake of Tuesday's dispiriting loss to Florida. "The disappointing thing for me is, to me, we can get this thing done and we keep putting something in our way and that's the problem," Noel said. "That's what I can't wrap my head around." Noel's choice of words should be a red flag. If he believes the team is good enough to make the playoffs but he can't get the most out of them, he's admitting that coaching is part of the problem. ... Nobody was pointing fingers publicly but it was clear no one brought out the best in those 18 players when their best was needed. When he looks in the mirror, Noel will see the only person who can do that.

Everytime I see Noel talking on TSN post-game, it hurts. He really needed to take a media relations course before becoming a NHL head coach.

So far whatever combo Noel has tried with his forwards has failed to produce consistent results.He doesn't like to talk No. 1 or No. 2 lines he has publicly stated he'll leave it to others to make that call, but this season it would be pretty hard for anyone to pick one over the other.Come on collectively, Wheeler, Kane and Jokinen are a over -15. It hasn't even helped in the kind of team-wide approach to discipline and defence Noel has been preaching. Good luck Jets on finding a solution.
