03:50 PM ET 03.07 | Ottawa Senators forward Dave Dziurzynski suffered a concussion during a fight with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Frazer McLaren on Wednesday night. The scuffle occurred during the first period and came after a face-off 26 seconds into the contest. McLaren dropped Dziurzynski with a punch and the Ottawa forward remained on the ice motionless for a short time. He ultimately required help to get off the ice surface. The Senators confirmed during the first intermission that he would be unable to return the game. The incident has rekindled the debate about staged fights off opening face-offs, as many feel it is unnecessary.
