03:54 PM ET 03.07 | Canadian musician Stompin??? Tom Connors died on Wednesday night of natural causes at age 77. Connors is best known for ???The Hockey Song,??? which is commonly played in NHL arenas all over North America. Connors was a proud Canadian who drew inspiration from the country. Born in Saint Johns, New Brunswick in 1936, Connors began his career in music because he didn???t have enough money to buy a beer at a bar. Instead, the bartender requested Connors play a few songs in order to pay for the drink. It resulted in a 13-month residency at the bar, a weekly radio spot and eight 45-rpm recordings.

Canuck will probably post a video but I don't have those skills...:

Hello out there, we're on the air, it's 'Hockey Night' tonight.
Tension grows, the whistle blows, and the puck goes down the ice.
The goalie jumps, and the players bump, and the fans all go insane.
Someone roars, "Bobby Scores!" at the good old Hockey Game.

Oh, the good old hockey game, is the best game you can name.
And the best game you can name, is the good old hockey game.

Second period.

Where players dash, with skates aflash, the home team trails behind.
But they grab the puck, and go bursting up, and they're down across the line.
They storm the crease, like bumble bees, they travel like a burning flame.
We see them slide, the puck inside, it's a 1-1 hockey game.

(Chorus)

Third Period. Last game of the playoff too.

Oh take me where, the hockey players, face off down the rink.
And the Stanley Cup, is all filled up, for the champs who win the drink.
Now the final flick, of a hockey stick, and the one gigantic scream.
"The puck is in! The home team wins!", the good old hockey game.

Canuck and wale2 seem to have gone missing at the same time that Harry Crack went on vacation to Mexico. Maybe he took them along as body guards.

And remember alcohol is never the answer unless the question is, "What's C2H5OH?"
