07:55 AM ET 03.08 | Steven Jackson made it official Thursday, voiding his contract with the St. Louis Rams. Jackson now gets a five-day head-start on other free-agent running backs still tied to their current teams. Jackson has made it clear he'd like to play for a contender, which gives credence to the speculation connecting him to the Atlanta Falcons. ... Would Jackson accept a part-time role with a contender? "Well, that's where a very open dialogue has to take place," he said. "I have opted out of my position of being with the team and being comfortable because I want to continue to still be the bell cow. ... From where we stand, Jackson sure sounds like a guy who still believes he can carry the ball 300 times and get it done.

Which one of the two will win out for Jackson, going to a team with a chance to win, or going somewhere to play for a bigger contract and no chance of winning in the future.

He is an older RB that has enjoyed indoor success. No way he decides to go to GB.

Too bad....not many one team guys left these days. The Rams seem to be turning things around as well.

Anywhere but NE. Steven Jackson is a class act, and as such, would not be a good fit for the class-less Patriots.

He'll never come here. There's 3 reasons he won't. Ted Thompson NEVER would go for a RB with that much tread on his tires, PLUS one who's on the wrong side of 30, PLUS one who is going to be asking for as much as S-Jack is.

The Cowboys would benefit tremendously with the tandem of Jackson and Murray.

Confused as to why someone from Idaho doesn't like the Patriots. It's usually a Colts fan, a Jets fan or a Pittsburgh fan. There really aren't any other fans of teams out there that the Patriots have destroyed the dreams of, repeatedly.

That 'might' be true but we'll never know, considering the fact that they need at least two more 'good' offensive linemen, and somehow, someway, JJ will screw that up too...

So are young ones. RB is a hard position to cash in on unless you're an AP type.
