08:06 AM ET 03.08 | Baltimore has found a one-stop shop of sorts. The Orioles have been scouting Los Angels Dodgers pitchers Aaron Harang, Ted Lilly and Chris Capuano, figuring that at least one of them will become available in a trade. The Dodgers' rotation is overflowing and the Orioles haven't closed the door on acquiring another veteran starter, though there's no shortage of arms in their camp. Harang, 34, went 10-10 with a 3.61 ERA in 31 starts last season. He's due to make $7 million this season, and his contract includes a $7 million mutual option in 2014 with a $2 million buyout. The Orioles may not want to commit that much to Harang, which would necessitate the Dodgers absorbing part of that deal.

Why would they want middle age to old starting pitchers who will end up around .500 when they can use semi-decent starters they have that will end up doing about the same thing and save a bunch of coin in the process? Use the dough on position players and use your own starting pitchers.

Adam Jones for all 3?

I'd send the scout to SF, but do I know?

wiseup: At 34 Harang has stayed healthy and usually get his 30 starts a year. Harang will be steady and last years 3.61 ERA was respectable. Harang could also be a mentor for younger pitching just coming up. If priced right Harang could be a plus.

Starting pitching depth is a key to a successful season. The O's didn't have any studs last year, but they had depth.

They are looking for more.

I'm sure the Dodgers will give you all three for Bundy and another guy, lol.

Wei-Yin Chin was 12-11 in 32 starts and 192 innings with 4.02 ERA. Don't see any of these 3 doing more than that.

I scoured the O's section of the Baltimore Sun and did not see anything about O's looking at these guys. So is this a case of poor reporting by the Sun or bs on the internet to suck in more page hits for ad dollars?
