Sharp out weeks, not days?

08:17 AM ET 03.08 | When the Blackhawks took off for Denver on Thursday afternoon, they did so with Marian Hossa, Andrew Shaw, Steve Montador and Brandon Bollig, but without Michael Frolik and Patrick Sharp. [With Frolik set to meet the team in Denver], the injury news was mostly positive with the exception of Sharp, who will be sidelined Friday when the Hawks face the Avalanche -- and he could be out for a matter of weeks rather than days. The veteran winger suffered a shoulder injury when he was checked along the boards by Colorado's Ryan O'Byrne during the Hawks' 3-2 victory Wednesday at the United Center. A source said the severity of Sharp's injury and the length of time he will miss still were being determined Thursday.

At this point, why not rest up one of your better players? Chicago is probably no more than 8 points from locking up a playoff spot. Just make sure he's ready for the 'offs.

it looked like he separated it. But I agree Danny L.

Shoulder separations vary in layoff time. Always liked Sharp. Hope it's not too bad.

Both Sharp and Shaw took big hits. That was a pretty nasty elbow. Dont think its suspension or even fine worthy. But I do think Stastny will be getting a phone call. Call up Morin for Sharp and Pirri for the 2nd line and drop Bolland to 3rd if Shaw misses some time. Those kids deserve it.

Yes, Patrick, get well and ready for a 1st round exit. You'll need that shoulder at 100% to play golf.

Please don't agree with Danny. As a Leaf fan it makes him nervous.

Hope for a speedy recovery.

Tell me about it.

Philly almost had a guarantee win last night, except they should have chanted "Flyers Suck." They should learn the chant fuels motivation.

Holy Goaltending.

When did they finally yank The Flower? End of the 1st?

Although, I liked the Pens one goal where Bryzgoaloff was flopping on his stomach ;)

Where is POTF?

How about Prust potting 1 to go along with 2 helpers :) ????

Flower is allowed to have one bad game. Okay, maybe a couple, BUT THAT IS IT. Last night was a bad game for him. In his defense, he has bailed out Voukon more than the other way around, and when it is 15 vs. 5 shots in the first? Some of the blame has to go on the guys in front of you. Two goals Flower let in were his fault. Other two? Not.

I checked out at the end of one ; and then tuned in for the come back in the 3rd. :))

Four unanswered is a scary way for your next opponent to have ended a game :/

Can't really speak to that, cause clearly my team has problems of its own.
