09:21 AM ET 03.08 | There are currently two teams in the Big 12 that sell alcohol at their athletic events (West Virginia and Iowa State) and the Texas Longhorns could soon be following the trend. Currently, the NCAA does not have any rules or policies regulating alcohol sales at regular season games so the Longhorns could see a potential to boost profits. According to Longhorns athletic director DeLoss Dodds, Texas could soon be selling alocohol at football, basketball and baseball games. When West Virginia first began selling alcohol at athletic functions, they reportedly brought in $520,000 in revenue from alcohol sales. While the decision would certainly generate money, Dodds says that the profit would not be a motivating factor in deciding to allow alcohol sales.
