That's not a good move...for the rest of the league!

Sounds like an agent trying to drive up the price of his client.

In that 2009 draft the Patriots took Brandon Tate , the WR with a record to date of 37 total receptions in the NFL, released by the Patriots two years later. The Steelers took Wallace with the next pick.
I guess they have updated their scouting report.

In the 2006 draft the Pats traded up to get Chad Jackson in the second round probably because of his 4.3 speed. They got 13 catches and 3 TD's out of him before letting him go. They've really wiffed on WR's in draft

no way this happens. there's a better chance of the pats resigning moss for a year than paying this guy top-dollar. Knowing the pats, this is probably a rope-a-dope for some other big name they are targetting, like steven jackson or something, to sign under the radar for a good deal..

good luck to whomever signs this one trick pony...

Yes they have, and pass rushers too.

And CB's too.

nah,..........they'd rather pay wallace the $$$ than an ''aging'' welker,.....it'd be nice to keep both = IF, it ever happens !

Lots of teams have whiffed on WRs in the draft. That position, more than any other, breaks team's hearts.

Wallace would take the money Brandon Lloyd made last season, and probably be a better fit.

Now we know why Brady took the pay cut.

When did Mike Wallace get arrested and play for his Prison Team (see Pic)?

March 9, 2013  12:20 PM ET

The problem with receivers is that they must learn what, by all accounts, is an extraordinarily complex offense AND establish the communication and trust with TB. Wallace wouldn't have to worry about that. All he has to do is GO (though he OCCASIONALLY works in the middle of the field). At the very least, he takes the opponents best CB away. Often it will require help, obviously leaving someone in the offense unaccounted for. Would be great but I' not so sure it's so great if it meant we had to lose Welker.

This is a dumb story. Who WOULDN'T be interested in signing Wallace? He's a stud.

March 9, 2013  12:47 PM ET

Would be a great move for the Pats, not so great for the rest of the league. I don't think I see it happening though. Pat will pay but others will pay more and I think he is looking for the money not the ring.
