08:58 AM ET 03.09 | A Super Bowl XLVII hero is being asked to take a pay cut to remain with the Baltimore Ravens. A source told FOXSports.com that the Ravens want wide receiver Anquan Boldin to renegotiate the $6 million base salary he is set to earn in 2013. Otherwise, Boldin will be released before Tuesday's start of the free-agent signing period. Boldin was one of quarterback Joe Flacco's favorite targets during the postseason, especially in third-down situations. Boldin caught six passes for 104 yards and one touchdown in Baltimore's 34-31 championship victory over San Francisco.

Ravens are going Indy with Manning. Overpay your QB and surround him with second stringers. Welcome to salary cap hell!

March 9, 2013  09:19 AM ET

this is why flacco wasnt worth 20+ million a year...

March 9, 2013  09:23 AM ET

Dumb if he agrees to a cut. There are teams out there with the cap space to give him $6 million for a year, he looks like he can still play to me.

Ya think maybe the 49ers are following this story?

I think that after his playoff performance this past year, every team is following this a little bit.

I would love to see Bouldin in black and gold.

the old one can run routes and can catch anything tossed in his general direction

QUOTE(#13):

Crazy. The defense is aging, you give Joe flaccid an insane contract and now want players to take pay cuts. Ray Rice is next.

Totally agree. Makes no sense to me, Boldin was absolutely key to Flacco from what I saw.

QUOTE(#10):

of course, but baltimore also has torrey, rice, a damn good defenseand a gm that has shown the ability to find good players

This... Especially that GM thing.
