10:30 AM ET 03.09 | Carey Price wasn't selected as one of the three stars in the Canadiens' 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, but coach Michel Therrien said he was the reason the Canadiens left town with a win. "We gave up 21 shots in the second period and 11 of them were scoring chances," said Therrien. "If not for Carey Price, we would have ended up packing our bags after the second period." The Canadiens received some help with their motivation from Therrien. "We got a message from coach between the second and third periods," said Price. "I won't go into the details, but we got the message loud and clear. It was all deserved and well put."

And not a word about the Hawks' streak coming to an end?

Still very impressive considering they picked up points in 24 straight games and 10 team don't even have 24 points yet.

And how many 1st over all picks is it going to take to stop the oil leaks?

They need some hewers of wood. Some axemen.

Too many guys not used to doing the heavy lifting.

I believe you are correct.

However, having a few 'axemen' clearcut upper management might be a good place to start.

I watched it, knew it was coming as the Hawks were squeaking by these last few games.

Why? Who could possibly be interested in such an insignificant accomplishment? Now ... if Kessel got his pinky hurt .....!

Agreed. And, the ones they do have (Eager, Jones, Peckham, Nick Schultz, Whitney & Co.) are not interested in the least. They consider themselves skilled forwards and offensive D-men now.

30 straight games with a point is something.....if the team was TO that did this.......awards would be given out in the middle of the season for the 1st time.
