03:36 PM ET 03.09 | After several disappointing seasons that were consistently marred by injury, Mavericks center Brandan Wright has found his niche in Dallas. Not only has he scored efficiently in his minutes off the bench, but he has been one of the Mavs' better rim protectors on defense. The No. 8 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft is very appreciate of the opportunity given to him by Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson, and he's hoping to re-sign in Dallas this summer. "I take a lot of pride in coming in here and getting my career resurgent after all the early injuries I had," Wright said. "Donnie and coach and Cube gave me opportunities to get my career back started and get on my feet here and show my talents, so I'd love to come back here." Wright is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason along with numerous other Mavs as part of Dallas' plan to have big cap space. But Wright should not be all that expensive, so he could find himself in the Mavs' future plans.

I think Dallas has bigger goals than bringing back most of these one year mercenaries. If he accepts a bench role than he has a chance to come back.

Like it or not, Wright has done a great job in his short minutes; the question is, why does coach still sit this man for games? What Mark needs to do is really look at the coach and think is he the one one to lead the team back to the promise land.
