11:38 PM ET 03.09 | Even more so than last season, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade hasn't been the focal point of the team's offense, given the stellar play of LeBron James. Given Wade's slow start to the season coming off of knee surgery, some had suggested Wade had lost a step. However, the All-Star guard says his dip in productivity has more to do with adjusting to his new role in the Heat's offense. "It's kind of simple: You either figure out or you don't," Wade said. "Once I realized that the ball was going to be out of my hands and I'd have it a lot less than I was used to, I had to find a way to be productive and effective the way that would be comfortable for me and better for the team." While Wade's raw numbers have been down this season, his field goal percentage is at a career high 52.2 percent. Wade added that playing for Team USA in 2008, where he came off the bench, prepared him for playing off the ball more.

All the talk of Wade losing a step and declining was premature. What everyone seemed to completely ignore is that he was coming off of knee surgery in the summer time. It just took time for him to get completely healthy and in mid season form. He is there now. That is why his numbers are looking stellar once again.
An interesting stat: during the month of February - the first 13 games of their winning streak - Wade out scored LBJ in the fourth quarter of games by 40 points in that stretch. He also out rebounded him, had more assists, blocks and steals, as well. He certainly steps up big when it matters most and has really been the catalyst of this great stretch of ball the Heat have been playing.

Exactly.
He is still the best shot blocking guard in the game, still grabs the rebounds at an efficient rate for a player his size, still can go off for 30 on any given night, he just let's the ball run through LBJ.
heat champ/raptors…
