Celtics bench coming up big in recent run

11:43 PM ET 03.09 | The Boston Celtics' season looked like it was on the brink of disaster last month when they lost Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger and Leandro Barbosa all went down with injuries. Since then, the Celtics bench has woken up to help the team move within two games of fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Led by Jeff Green and Jason Terry, the Boston bench outscored their Atlanta Hawks counterparts Friday night 46-8 to help the Celtics move ahead of the Hawks for sixth place in the East. Forward Paul Pierce said he isn't surprised by the bench's recent production. "Those guys got experience, man," he said. "You're talking about Jeff, who's been a starter in this league for other teams (Oklahoma City). JET's been a starter in this league, well, actually JET's been the best sixth man. He should have been a starter in this league. Jordan Crawford's been a starter in this league and played a lot of minutes." The Celtics have now won five straight games and nine straight at home.
