10:35 AM ET 03.10 | Bryan Murray has been working the phones. With 24 days until the April 3 trade deadline, the Senators GM isn't sure whether he's going to be a buyer, seller or a bit of both with the club sitting in a playoff position after officially passing the mid-way point Friday night in New York. The Senators aren't comfortably in a post-season spot, but they went into Saturday's action five points ahead of the No. 9-ranked Winnipeg Jets after a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Though the Senators have struggled to score without injured stars Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson, they're keeping their heads above water and with a just a touch more consistency they have the capability to be in the playoffs. Murray wants to try to get a handle on the timetable for the return of Spezza (back), winger Guillaume Latendresse (neck), defenceman Mike Lundin (concussion) and goalie Craig Anderson (ankle) before making a decision on what's next. The Senators could easily go shopping at the deadline because Murray has never been afraid to add a missing element if he thinks it will help the club have success. He isn't prepared to rush to make a move right now, though.

Those Murray boys never impressed me. When the going got tough they used to swallow a lot. And sweat.

"The Senators could easily go shopping at the deadline..."

That's the best way NOT to make a mistake. Take your wife/fiance/girlfriend/children and ... go shopping!
