02:59 PM ET 03.10 | The Brooklyn Nets made a run at Atlanta Hawks soon-to-be free agent Josh Smith before the trade deadline. While it was a longshot for Smith to land with the Nets, he was open in recognizing the big-market value. Former Hawks teammate Joe Johnson is now in the spotlight and receiving recognition as a big-time player in the NBA. It's something that Smith might be noticing as he enters his own free agency. "It is a little difficult (playing in Atlanta)," Smith told the New York Daily News. "Last year like I was telling everybody, we were ranked No. 1 worst sports town in the United States. It was just the whole city, baseball, football -- but football always has a crazy fanbase -- it is a little bit difficult. But hopefully we can turn it around sooner than later."

Just wait though... Once the wheels come off the Falcons train, they'll be in the same pecking order as the Braves and Hawks in terms of no one coming to games again.

If Atlanta is a small market then I guess only NYC, LA, CHI, PHI and BOS are large markets? Who writes this stuff??
