12:55 PM ET 03.10 | Disgruntled guard Raja Bell was waived by the Utah Jazz on Sunday, a move that presumably will open up a roster spot for D-League guard Travis Leslie, according to the Salt Lake Tribune's Bob Oram. Bell, who had not played for the team and publicly voiced displeasure about the Jazz, was rumored to be a target of the Los Angeles Lakers as of a few weeks ago. But the March 1 cutoff point passed, and though Bell will receive his full salary from Utah, he won't be eligible to join an NBA team for the playoffs. He could, however, join a team for the remainder of the regular season.

His value is pretty low. He could have helped some teams in the playoffs but now even that won't be an option. Smart move by the Jazz to keep him away from their competition.

I don't get why the Jazz did this. Scum bag organisation. He didn't play a single game. They could have easily waived him before the date so he could join a different team.

I know they don't want to make the Lakers any stronger but this is just sad.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, for it tolls for thee, Raja Bell.

Depends on how much of a jerk Bell was also to them. Players do screw over teams repeatedly (Someone named Fisher did that to Utah as well as Dallas in the name of "family time")
