09:32 PM ET 03.10 | Chase Blackburn's days in New York may be numbered, as the New York Giants are reportedly only comfortable offering the linebacker a one-year contract at the veteran's minimum. Blackburn played middle linebacker in 2012, starting 15 games for the Giants, but the team has been looking to upgrade at the position since they let go of Antonio Pierce in 2010. Blackburn could return to the Giants, but it would be at the veteran's minimum and it would be in a special teams role. According to the New York Post, Blackburn's agent has come forward to say that his client will not settle for the Giants' offer until he's tested the water and figured out his value. The hope is that Blackburn can find a team willing to pay him more than what the Giants are offering, which under the current CBA is only $840,000.

He made one outstanding play, but he is not and outstanding linebacker. Giants need better.

Chase is one of the better Cover Linebackers, he's used mainly on passing situations on Tight ends, he's no LT, but does have value!

Only $840,000?? How can someone live on $840,000 for a partial years worth of work? Wow... no wonder so many players are broke after their playing days are over!

Well, I suppose the alternative is that substitute teaching job they pulled him away from. He already beat the odds, anything now is gravy.
