08:01 AM ET 03.11 | Baltimore has at least one hard decision to make, in this case with veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin. The Ravens asked [Boldin] to accept a $2 million pay cut of his $6 million base salary, according to league sources with knowledge of the situation. In what remains a fluid situation, Boldin has declined. ... One source stated early Saturday morning, "Unless something dramatic happens, it's an absolute done deal that Anquan will be released." The Ravens were on the verge of releasing Boldin at one point Friday afternoon, and he had prepared a statement thanking the fans for their support for his time in Baltimore. The Ravens haven't given up on working something out with Boldin.

If I were Boldin, who just played lights out this season especially in the post season, why would I take a paycut?

I wonder where the Ravens would be without Boldin's clutch catches in the playoffs? He doesn't seem like the right guy to lose.

He will not. And to Flacco's credit, he has stated publicly that bouldin should not. Bouldin will call the Ravens bluff, and they will back down. You watch.

I think Bouldin has sent a clear message that this is his last year and he will play for $6 million, and not a penny less. Somewhere.

So the Ravens decided to break the bank on their QB, and no they want arguably his #1 WR to take a pay cut?
Eff no.

Everyone should know by now in the NFL, thanks for what you have done, but we want you to do this, and if you refuse we will release you instead.

I hope they keep Boldin, but if they don't, receiver becomes more of a priority in the draft... not that they'll get return on that pick right away

Boldin made Flacco look very good during that run.
Several of those TD grabs were high jump ball throws...Boldin does not pull them down and Flacco is looking at 6yrs $90m vs the $120 he got.
Shame is, they paid Flacco and expect Boldin to take a cut.
If I'm Boldin, he tell them to bite me and go grab some dough elsewhere.
He can find a home with many NFL teams that will have a shot at winning next year vs the Ravens.

Well they gave Flacco what he wanted, so now it is like having a $20 million sports car sitting in the driveway with no road to drive on. Great thinking.

Flacco put the ball where only Boldin could get it. Watch the montage of all Boldin's catches in the playoffs. You can find one if you search YouTube for "Anquan Boldin- 2012/2013 Playoffs". Boldin was outstanding, but Flacco did everything possible for Boldin to succeed. I'm still not 100% sold that Flacco will maintain that quality level, but you have to give him credit for last season.

"And to Flacco's credit, he has stated publicly that bouldin should not."
So Flacco should be applauded for publicly stating this? He doesn't exactly practice what he preaches. The reason Boldin HAS to take a paycut is because of Flacco's direct actions. You want to keep players that make you look better around, pull a Tom Brady. Flacco is a hypocrite.

The first fallout of over-paying Flacco. Will be interesting to see this team next year without Lewis, Kruger, and Boldin (if they don't pay him).

You are wasting screen ink on this dude. He is still trying to justify that Romo is a top three QB.
