08:08 AM ET 03.11 | After the game, Kyrie Irving needed help merely pulling a sweatshirt over his head. [The sight offered] a clear indication that his left shoulder contusion was far more painful than watching his team flounder. ... [Irving] took a hip check from Toronto rookie Jonas Valanciunas with 2:04 left in the third quarter and went down hard on his left shoulder under the Cavs basket. He lay on the baseline for a bit, then went to the Cavs bench where he was tended to by athletic trainer Max Benton. He returned to the game to shoot two free throws -- one-handed. He missed the second, Landry Fields got the rebound and was fouled by Luke Walton, at which point Irving headed toward the Cavs' locker room and did not return.

QUOTE(#9):

We're not worried, injuries happen quite often in the NBA. As long as Kyrie keeps playing and missing a few games here or there no problem. As long as it's not an injury like Rondo's, Rose's, Shumpert's, Stat's, Gasol's.

Morning Cherry Picker - So injuries on big market player players are different than small market players....?

QUOTE(#13):

Funny, how I don't hear much talk about Tony Parker's injury, but when Kyrie gets a hang nail, it's front page news.

cause he plays for the Spurs. No great team gets less coverage for anything than those guys.

Manu hasn't played in 3 years seems like. He might have retired, but we don't get the stories for them.

QUOTE(#12):

Injuries are of 2 types. Minor injuries that cause a player to miss games here and there. That's the kind Kyrie is having. Then there are MAJOR injuries that causes players to miss months at a time or longer.

But what if you have multiple minor injuries throughout the season that when added up on days missed are just as long or longer as with a MAJOR injury...

I really want Kyrie to be a force for many years. He's a Duke man and as such deserves nothing less.
