08:20 AM ET 03.11 | Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly was asked about the progress of quarterback Everett Golson since the national championship game. Brian Kelly: "I think last year when we had a team meeting, he was on the back of his chair. Now he's on the edge of his seat." ... SBT: Is he bigger physically? Brian Kelly: "That was a point of emphasis. As I look at our medical report, he had more time missed (in practice) than any other player relative to the injuries across the board for a starter -- other than somebody that was lost for the year. So getting thicker, getting stronger has been a point of emphasis. And he's definitely moving toward being able to eradicate some of those things. He's 186 now. He finished last season at 178.

Very good point, but IMO, ND can't rely only on their defense this year, like last year!!! They need a "better" offense this year. Golson was average last year with 12 TDs and 6 picks, he needs to get better!!!

You're probably right OT. The O must be more consistent. I think the D will be as good or better, but it took a perfect storm to go 12-0 (ignoring the NCG game) with the oft-ineffectual offense.
