Vikings Have Numerous Options After Percy Harvin Trade

02:12 PM ET 03.11 | The Minnesota Vikings have finally parted ways with embattled wide receiver Percy Harvin, but while his saga is over, it remains to be seen how the Vikings will move forward at wide receiver, a position they needed to upgrade badly even with Harvin on the roster. Minnesota now has two first round draft picks and it's almost a certainty that they'll spend on one a young wide receiver but the Vikings now have options when it comes to what they can do now that they've moved on from Percy Harvin. The VIkings can package their picks to trade up an select Cordarrelle Patterson, they can pool their money and sign Mike Wallace or Greg Jennings and also draft a wide receiver in their first round, or they could double up on receivers and take Tavon Austin and Keenan Allen. With Harvin gone the possibilities for the Vikings are literally endless.

Endless possibilities? An entire team made of Adrian Petersons?

Minnesota, be happy about how much you got for Harvin. Now, don't mess up the pick.

Any chance they don't use either 1st rounder on a receiver?

Exchanging one WR headache (Harvin) for another (Wallace). Yeah! that's always a good plan ;^)

Could use one first rounder to pay for RFA Cruz. Makes more sense, depends on how much he wants.

Not sure any FA WR is in a big hurry to be a long term team mate of Ponder. Marino he is not.

With that crappy QB they have, it doesn't matter what WR's they have.

I wonder what Adrian Peterson thinks about this? He surely can't be happy that the only other player on offense with a pulse is now gone o_O

Anquan Boldin traded to 49ers for a sixth-round pick???

That would be the Niners' retaliatory strike for the Harvin-to-Seattle deal. Good snag for them.

I just saw Peterson's tweet:

"I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach several times!!!"

Thats about how I thought he'd feel..

Minnesota needs to use a pick and snag Tavon Austin. He's similar to Harvin but without the headache. Of course if the QB can't get the WR's the ball, even Rice in his prime wouldn't help that much.

Yeah... that load on his back just got a little but heavier.

He led them to the playoffs.

Especially if they don't resign Loadholt...

Vikings should look to sign Greg Jennings, then pick up another guy in the draft.

I like it. It's a double win for Minnesota. Fill the WR void and stick it to the Pack by snatching up one of their former studs.

Nice plan.

Vikings went 5-1 while Harvin was out.... I don't think AP will even notice.

Oh he'll notice when the defenders that used to spy Harvin all of a sudden start double, triple, quadrupling up on Peterson.
