02:35 PM ET 03.11 | Pittsburgh Penguins star center Evgeni Malkin has had a rough start to March after missing the first few days of the month because of concussion symptoms from a head injury suffered on Feb. 22. Malkin returned to the Penguins' line-up on March 4 and played in three games, but now he will be on the bench once again. The Penguins announced Malkin will miss one-to-two weeks with what is being described as an upper body injury.

If there is one team in professional sports that you think would know better than to rush a superstar back from a concussion too soon, it would be the Pittsburgh Penguins. Absolutely gobstoppingly stupid.

Good point. At times you'd think the medical staff was made up of veterinarians.

Penguins and vets go hand in hand...don't they?

Maybe they're just busy. Working on the Pens, Coyotes and Panthers. Lotta travel involved. Then there's the Bruins, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Ducks and Sharks. I'm a little more sympathetic to the staff now. All those treats they gotta carry around. Tiring.

It is a shoulder injury. Had nothing to do with his concusion. So, it isn't an issue of "being rushed."

Remember this: "Sidney Crosby will return next game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is absolutely fine after getting ventricles dislodged in his brain by David Steckel."

It was Bylsma who said it was unrealted to the concussion. I would hope he would tell the truth and not lead everyone to believe otherwise, just to give false hope.

At this point, i'm not sure how any of ya trust this organization anymore.

If it is just a harmless shoulder injury, couldn't he have at least have suffered it in the first period before he proceeded to torch poor Jimmy Reimer?

yes, I also had a good laugh at that one. Given that he comes from the land of broken dreams and bitter tears only makes it funnier.
