04:32 PM ET 03.11 | Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn is expected to miss Tuesday night???s game against the Nashville Predators due to a wrist injury, according to an announcement by the team. Benn sustained a punishing blow from Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal on Saturday, which resulted in Benn leaving the game. The hit appeared to connect with Benn???s head. However, the issue is not with a potential concussion, but rather with his wrist. After undergoing x-rays, it revealed that Benn has not sustained any kind of break. Despite this, he is not expected to play against Nashville. Benn stated the injury was not sustained on the Hanzal hit, but rather earlier in the contest.

Hello NHLPA...perhaps it's time to finally ditch the armor known as shoulder pads before every member of your association become slobbering fools.

I understand they want some changes. Make them metal with 3 inch studs coming out of the pads. They can cause more injuries sooner like that.

Maybe the Fehrer can show Benn how to use his wrist properly to avoid injuring himself. :-)

And - Hanzal was not fined nor received any time off.

I'll be looking forward to the 2013/14 schedule.

Benn is -9 the last two weeks. He could probably use a game or two to get his head right, too.
