Izzo: Big Ten tourney could resemble Final Four

08:17 AM ET 03.12 | Just how good is the field at this week's Big Ten tournament? This week's action Thursday through Sunday at the United Center in Chicago could be as entertaining -- or better -- than the NCAA tournament. That's hardly hyperbole. Not when the No. 6-ranked team in the country -- Michigan -- is the No. 5 seed in the conference. "It will be like a Final Four in the Big Ten tournament," Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. "With the number of ranked teams, this could be bigger than any Final Four I've been in." The big question is whether the rigorous regular season -- and now pounding on each other for four more days -- leaves Big Ten schools fire-tested or burned out for the NCAA tournament.

That ought to piss off the rest of the country.

The ACC should be really cranked.

B1G poaching their teams, AND saying their roundball skillz are best in the land? Them's fighting words, right there...

We have lots of BS some of the fruits and nuts from "west of texas".

It is a necessity if one wants to indulge in good steak.

And unfortunately, we get some of the fruits and nuts from that area "west of texas". Would be okay if it were really fruits and nuts.

Don't they need to win first? Hasn't it been a decade or so since a Big 10 team won the national title? They are very solid this year, no doubt. But win first.

I'm seeing lots of Cali and Florida plates lately. Pennsylvania plates too. Those economies must suck.

Used to see a lot of Michigan plates but those folks stayed so long the state of Texas made them get new plates.

Who was the Mayor of Houston who said that "Yankees are like hemorrhoids....if they come down and go back up they are no problem, but if they come down and stay they are a real pain in the ****"?

I am also appreciative that YOU live west of Texas since YOU would be an embarrassment to those of us who live east.

And I did live west of Texas for a number of years (20+ in New Mexico)...

Emphasizing the YOU to indicate I'm not including the other West Coasters in this description.

Sorry...got it wrong...it was the Governor of Texas, Anne Richards. I think she also said that George H W Bush was born with a silver boot is his mouth?

She was a great lady who spoke her mind. Loved it when she was the keynote at one of the Dem Conventions...

Sounds like something Bob Lanier would have said. Also, possibly something Tx Governor Ann Richards may have said as well.
