08:20 AM ET 03.12 | Michigan State's 2014 receiving target Drake Harris may just be on the verge of becoming very unpopular in East Lansing. [Harris] of Grand Rapids Christian withdrew his verbal commitment to MSU on Monday. "Since I'm just playing football now," Harris told reporters after his regional basketball game Monday in Grand Rapids, "I want to play at a bigger school, win a national championship." Harris reportedly has been at Michigan the past three weekends. [Harris] planned to visit other schools, including U-M and Ohio State. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Harris, ranked the country's No. 1 receiver in the class of 2014 by recruiting guru Tom Lemming this week, committed to MSU last summer.

Uh-oh, DS. This kid is wavering bigtime, AND making noise like he thinks MSU can't compete in the upper levels of CFB. Quick, get him a pitcher of the green kool-aid!

No disrespect to Michigan (and I truly HATE Urban Meyer), but if this kid is serious about playing at a big school AND winning National Championships, would OSU have the inside track?

Meat Chicken only wants you if you can't/won't tie your shoes, and you arm-punt the ball down the field.

I can only suppose this young man did not see Michigan play last year.

I try not to get to excited about early recruiting stories. There is still plenty of time for this young man to come to his senses. If his primary objective is to play on a National Champion, then, quite frankly, I would share his concern about MSU. I like Dantonio, but I'm not sure he can get MSU to the top. He has certainly made us competitive within the B1G, but that might be his ceiling as a leader.

Hurt about what? Urban Meyer moving on down the road?

First, few if any Gator fans are butt hurt by Urb surfacing at tOSU. Second, SFS is a Cane fan, and if I were to hazard a guess, would CERTAINLY not have any butt hurtness from Urb's departure.

My guess is it's either OSU or Michigan with perhaps Michigan having a slight lead right now.

Michigan will be extremely competitive with OSU in the very near future. The current coach at San Diego State (Hoke's former D-coordinator said "It's a matter of when, not if, Hoke wins a NC at Michigan."

Harris does, however, have plans to visit Alabama, Florida, and Oregon as well.

How many years do I have to hear that TSUN will be competitive...this is a broken record.

You know and I know this is true.

I honestly expect Michigan to win at home next year but it will be highly competitive none-the-less.

Last year's game was competitive. You were beat the year before.

You been watching the game Hippy??
