07:19 PM ET 03.12 | NFL free agency begins at 4 p.m. ET today, but while that usually means fans are waiting to hear what big name their team has signed, we must never forget past signings that have put us where we are as a league today. While some players are remembered as free agent busts, securing massive contracts and then never living up to high expectations, the entire goal of free agency is to add that missing piece which will take you over the top and bring you a championship. From Priest Holmes, who embodied everything a team looks for in a free agent signing to Drew Brees, a guy who has redefined how teams evaluate potential targets, NFL free agency is without a doubt one of the most exciting times in the NFL season and when done right, it can result in a lot more than just a spot on a 'Top 15' list, it can end in a championship.

With all due respect, I believe the best Free Agent Signing was Johnny Unitas, who tried out for THE BALTIMORE COLTS!!! He was drafted by Pittsburgh, but they didn't think he was SMART ENOUGH to play Quarterback!!! Go figure!!!
