Surprise southern suitor in Revis sweepstakes

08:07 AM ET 03.13 | The Isle of Revis may soon find new coordinates in a much warmer climate. The Jets did not make any splashy moves on the first day of free agency. The question now is: Will they make the biggest splash of the week by trading star cornerback Darrelle Revis? Multiple reports yesterday said the Buccaneers are the leading candidate to make a deal with the Jets for Revis and a deal could be getting closer. Tampa Bay makes sense because it has more than $30 million in cap space, a need at cornerback and some familiarity with Revis and his agents. The Eagles also are reportedly interested. The deal is still a very complicated one, and it's hard to imagine it will come together quickly, but the Jets are motivated to trade their best player.

That's what I fear - days or weeks of these Revis trade scenarios

A step up for Revis, from a 6-10 team to a 7-9 team. But, it would be more fun just to let him disappear into the obscurity of Tampa Bay.

What team would be stupid enough to trade for an injured Revis? Nothing but whining ahead for whoever lands him.

The Jets have already confirmed Philadelphia was not a serious suitor for Revis. Tampa is not a definite either there just projected to be the ideal team after factoring the cap space and need at the position. At this point this is all speculation.
