Ronnie Brewer can't get on the floor -- here's why

08:09 AM ET 03.13 | Oklahoma City picked up Ronnie Brewer at the trade deadline, and at a good price, setting up what appeared to be a nice fit, particularly on defense. Wrong. Brewer hasn't played. Not much, that is, and the question many now want an answer to is why? Thunder coach Scott Brooks, though, hasn't budged. Even as his second string continues to struggle with stopping opponents consistently -- most notably the past two defeats, against San Antonio and Denver -- Brooks has resisted inserting Brewer into the rotation. "There's not a lot of minutes right now," Brooks said. "But we're happy that we have him. It gives us an option if we need it. But right now he just has to stay ready." Obvious opportunities to unleash Brewer have passed the Thunder by.

It's easy to look at the Thunder and how well they have done the last few years and just assume that Scott Brooks is a really good coach. But with things like this - and not to mention how Spoelstra totally out coached him in the Finals and his refusal to NOT play Kendrick Perkins - have to make you question just how good of a coach he really is. Last week when they played the Knicks on TNT and JR was going off on everyone guarding him, why didn't he give Ronnie Brewer a chance to slow him down? Why were there no mins then?

QUOTE(#5):

I think its just a numbers game. They have thabo, who's as good if not better than him defensively and martin in front of him at the guard and they aren't taking away kd's minutes .Plus, in the NY game, though Jr went wild, they did shut him down in the 4 th

JR shut his own arse down on the 4th...

Even Fischer is getting minutes over him, that's turrible!
