Looming on-field dilemma in Texas

08:16 AM ET 03.13 | With an impressive spring, young Jurickson Profar appears to be ready for the major leagues -- but, at present, Texas doesn't have a job for baseball's top middle infield prospect. Nominally, at least. [Ian Kinsler] has been the Rangers' everyday second baseman for the past seven years, Elvis Andrus the shortstop for four. ... Each made the All-Star team last year. With Kinsler just starting a five-year contract and Andrus not eligible for free agency until the 2014-2015 offseason, the intrigue is self-evident. Somebody's going to get a new position -- or a new team. The associated questions, in no particular order: Who? When? And at what cost (if any) to clubhouse tranquility?

Kinsler is going to be an immense waste of money for the Rangers over the next several years.

Why are so many teams afraid to give these kids a chance? Boston is making the same mistake with Jackie Bradley Jr.

Deal Kinsler. He's over paid and over rated.

I agree. I think the red sox should plug both Bradley and Bogarts into the starting lineup in April. It would be fun (for a change) instead of doom and gloom. The killer B's.

Bogarts may be pushing it, he just turned 20, a year in AAA wouldn't hurt. But Bradley looks ready, put him in CF and send Ellsbury to left.

MLB Network also said this kid is 'Bulked up alittle to 165 lbs'.
Someone should show this kid the way to the nearest White Castle :-)

Bogaerts actually hit better than Bradley in AA, I'd get them both up ASAP.
In a related note, the Blue Jays are calling up Jackie Rogers Jr. to be the first albino in the majors since Whitey Ford.

Key is for the Rangers... he's a 20-20 player at 2B. Not too many of those.

Wonder what kind of pitcher(s) the Dodgers would send to Texas for Kinsler?

I should probably review their numbers again before staying this, but I think Bogaerts is a better prospect than Profar.
