03:21 PM ET 03.13 | The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a three-year deal with quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. The 30-year-old comes over from the Cincinnati Bengals, where he was Andy Dalton's understudy. Gradkowski becomes the back up for Ben Roethlisberger, who has been somewhat injury-prone over the past couple of seasons. Big Ben only played 13 games last year and hasn't started all 16 games since the 2008 season.

As a back up Gradkowski is ok, but Steelers should find a QB in the draft easily to develop.

Big Ben has a few years left. They can get a player to develop in another year or 2.

They should honestly do both, keep a guy who can step in when Ben gets hurt, and start the grooming process at the same time. They could still end up doing this via the draft.

Gradkowski and the Raiders cost the Steelers a playoff spot a couple years back. Looks like Mr. Rooney remembered that performance.
Plus, he played his H.S. football in the Burgh. The Steelers have always liked the local players.

I thought they had a youngster there.

Byron Leftwich and Charlie Batch.... anything but young

He should be a nice addition, but I agree with Tuck, look for the future in the draft.

Ben is one more hard hit away from being out for the season (I know all players are but you know what I mean). His injury history should lead the Steelers to groom a young guy NOW, you just never know how his body will/wont heal

I think Dixon is gone. They should be looking to get someone in. Grad. can come in and play decently if needed, but he's not a long term solution.
