04:52 PM ET 03.13 | Detroit Red Wings forward Valtteri Filppula is expected to return for the team???s game against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night, according to head coach Mike Babcock. Filppula has missed seven games since sustaining a shoulder injury against the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 24. Prior to the announcement, it was believed that Filppula was nearing a return. This was further proven given the team???s decision to assign forward Tomas Tatar to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. Tatar would lose his spot on the team???s power play with Filppula back in the lineup, which would significantly cut his ice time.

Wouldn't hurt if they had a certain fast skater at the Helm. It's like he fell off the boat.

So what happened in the 3rd period?

Like most in the East & Central time zones, I watched the 1st & 2nd then went to bed. The Wings controlled play for most of the game with Calgary's two 1st period goals coming off lucky bounces, so I figured I'd wake up to a 3-2 or 4-2 Wings win, not a 2-5 loss.
