08:32 AM ET 03.14 | The Los Angeles Lakers worked their way back into the playoff picture and are currently sitting as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they lost Wednesday night's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, but they may have lost even more. Kobe Bryant rolled his ankle on the final offensive possession of the Lakers' loss to the Hawks after he fell awkwardly on the foot of Dahntay Jones. Bryant's ankle immediately buckled and he grabbed his leg in obvious pain. The Lakers star was immediately taken for X-rays after the game and they came back negative, but he was diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain. There is no timetable for his return and he is officially listed as "out indefinitely."

I hate it when players squirm about non calls... yes officials missed it.. so what? Biya biya!!!!!

Regardless if it was a foul or not, ranting about it on Twitter makes said player look like a wuss.

Who hasn't played basketball and landed on someone's foot at some point? Do we **** and moan about it?

With the sheer number of shots that Kobe takes a game (31 in the Atlanta game) I am surprised it doesn't happen more often. Its just bound to happen with as many shots he takes.

This is where LA should realize they still have two other superstars on the team (three when Gasol returns) and should still be able to beat 98% of the teams out there. One of the many benefits of being a super team.

"No Kobe? Gosh, well I guess we'll have to get by with Steve Nash and Dwight Howard for a while."

Looking at the role Nash has been playing lately, it makes me wonder how Chris Paul would have worked out had he been allowed to go to LA. I'm guessing he would have shifted into the spot up shooter role, similar to Nash.
