12:55 PM ET 03.14 | Free agent offensive tackle Jeremy Trueblood signed with the Washington Redskins on Thursday, according to Jenna Laine and CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir. He is expected to compete for the starting right tackle job in Washington. Trueblood spent his first seven seasons in Tampa Bay, but lost his starting job after Week 1 of the 2012 season after allowing a hit and two hurries. Over the course of his career he has appeared in 101 games for the Bucs, starting 84 of them. The 6'8, 320-pound 29-year-old was a second-round draft pick by Tampa in 2006 out of Boston College and should be an inexpensive addition to the offensive line for a Redskins team struggling to stay under the cap. Trueblood will compete with Tony Pashos, Tom Compton, and Maurice Hurt for the starting job opposite left tackle Trent Williams. Last season Tyler Polumbus started 15 games for Washington, but he is a free agent and not expected to re-sign with the Redskins.

With Trueblood on the roster Washington should have no trouble keeping the Redskins name.
