Raptors unlikely to use amnesty clause on Bargnani

03:45 PM ET 03.14 | After a miserable year for Andrea Bargnani ended with a season-ending elbow injury, the relationship between the former No. 1 overall pick and the Raptors is at an all-time low. Bargnani is still owed $23 million over the next two seasons, but Toronto's front office is reportedly not even considering using the league's amnesty provision. With $66 million in salaries already committed for next season, the Raptors wouldn't be under the salary cap even if they released Bargnani. As a result, they would still be on the hook for his salary without being able to do anything to replace him. Bryan Colangelo will try to shop him in the off-season, but with his value around the NBA at an all-time low, the team will likely need to figure out a role that makes sense for him next season.

Bargani is no bargain but everyone can be traded. Expect Toronto to eat a bunch of bad contracts in order to move this guy.
