03:22 PM ET 03.14 | The SEC will formally announce the launch of their own television network sometime in mid-April, according to commissioner Mike Slive. The network will likely be a partnership between the conference and ESPN, but it's unclear just how much the contract will be worth, and who will own it. The Big Ten and Pac-12 both make huge amounts of money through their own television networks, and the SEC is closer to joining them as the top earner in college football.

Maybe they can call it "The Not Longhorn Network"

You mean it won't be a partnership with Court TV?

(figured I'd go ahead and get that out of the way.)

Fulmer Cup specials will be a mainstay, count on it. Current standings will close each episode.

Need Doc to dig up the nittygritties, and give us the details of how this thing will work, and the way the cash flows get to the players.

Wonder how much this will cost on DirecTV?

March 14, 2013  05:04 PM ET

I'm hoping it will be on the same U-Verse tier as the BTN and MooTube.

No. My only options are one of the satellite providers, or a local crappy cable crew that I had a terrible experience with.

That's too bad!! I like Comcast, it's a bit pricey, but it seems to be dependable!!! :-)
