Cleveland Browns interested in Jason Campbell

06:56 PM ET 03.14 | The Cleveland Browns haven't been as aggressive as many expected them to be in free agency but that's not stopping them from attaching their names to a number of players. After swinging and missing on a chance to sign Cliff Avril, the Browns have moved to the other side of the ball and are looking at bringing in a quarterback to spice up a much-needed competition at the position. According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns are showing an interest in 31-year-old free agent quarterback Jason Campbell. Campbell is a classic example of a guy with talent that could never find the right footing in the NFL. He started in Washington, Oakland and Chicago but did so sporadically, with his job in Washington being the most consistent of his career. The Browns need some depth and talent at quarterback as currently Brandon Weeden is virtually unchallenged for the job. Backup Colt McCoy could end up vying for the job but the job in Cleveland can't be a two dog race and it needs a third party as an x-factor.
