Chances of Bryant playing Friday 'not good'

08:12 AM ET 03.15 | In addition to keeping the debate alive about whether Dahntay Jones' was a "#dangerousplay," Kobe Bryant continues to do what he can to return to the lineup. ... A team source told ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne that Bryant's chances of playing against Indiana are "not good." Losing Bryant, the NBA's second-leading scorer, for an extended period would be costly for the Lakers (34-32), who own a half-game lead over the Utah Jazz for the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference. Bryant's frustration over the play and his injury was palpable Thursday when he tweeted, "17yrs. Countless fades. This has happened TWICE. Jalen and Now Ankle still very swollen. Treatment all day."

If he asked Howard to play through pain, he should do the same just to back up himself.

True, though it depends on the nature of the injury.

Just when the Lakers started to roll...

C'mon Kobe! You said it best, "you gotta play through some pain!"

We'll see. I won't be surprise if he plays. He has told players to man up because he has played w/ injuries before. He has to follow what he preaches.

Yea, after the Dwight thing it would seem hypocritical to not play
however; if a man can't stand, he can't fight.

LMFAO, G-B did you see a photo of Kobe's swollen ankle after the game???? It looked like he swallowed a tennis ball and it went all the way to his ankle!!!

If you can't walk he shouldn't play. Indiana is a loss anyway.

Good point!!! There are quite a few ligaments in the ankle and Kobe could damage them permanently, if he were to play before the ankle is healed.

I've been saying this for a while. Lakers need to rest Kobe. At the rate he's going, he won't have anything left in the playoffs. Utah is self-destructing, and DAL is not going to make a run. The 8th spot (or even 7th) is up for the taking to Lakers.

No one would wanna play the Lakers if Pau and Kobe are healthy, and Howard shows some heart for a change.

An ankle is a lot different than an injured shoulder.

Is this your professional opinion? Or are you speculating on this, lol.
