08:19 AM ET 03.15 | Kyle Lohse celebrated an anniversary of sorts on Thursday. [Lohse] went through this as a free agent once before. Five years ago on Thursday, he signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. This time, Lohse is taking even longer to find a new team. Lohse, 34, is working out both near his home in Arizona and at a facility operated by his agent, Scott Boras. ... The Texas Rangers remain in contact with Lohse, according to major-league sources. Boras said only that multiple teams are interested. "He's doing his workouts, and we've continued talking with a number of teams," Boras said. "A lot of teams are evaluating their existing situations, but have called and have interest in Kyle."

With Boras as his agent, Lohse may be waiting around for a while.

but I bet ya he eventually does get Lohse a contract with some teaam at near the price he wants. Never underestimate Boras. He connects more than he misses.

True.

But he's still a dink.

There will be a key injury sometime soon and Lohse will step in at a good salary, I agree.

Is anybody else still seeing a stupid NFL SI video about QBs struggling in Week 15? This is starting to seem more and more like an orphaned site.

Also, I don't like Kate Bock very much. Give us more of the better Kate.
Or, let us eat...eh, never mind.

I see it. And Carl Pavano is still injured from shoveling snow.

Zero is a number. Just saying.

no doubt about that. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could toss him and I doubt I would go out for drinks with him but he is a damn good agent and agents aren't paid to be nice or likable.
In fact, I think in their job description it says they need to be adept at snake oil sales and just a tad on the slimey side.

Possibly.

Boras wants teams to believe there is more interest in 26 than before. The Padres have major pitching problems, but it will probably be the Rangers shelling out the big money for 26.

An injury is what it will take. Lohse wants to be paid like a 28 year year old up and comer. But he's a 35 year old who's had a couple of good seasons after a mediocre career. GM's don't trust him, and rightly so.

I was just going to stay on the Kate note...a twist on Marie Antoinette's "let them eat cake".

They'd be stupid to shell out for an old guy with the team they have, but I could still see it happening.

You'd think the guy had been run over by a plow truck...actually, I kind of like the sound of that.

That's what I thought. You showed great restraint in stopping where you did.
