08:36 AM ET 03.15 | Early in the free agency period, the Cleveland Browns expressed interest in free agent quarterback Jason Campbell as a backup to last year's first-round pick Brandon Weeden. Not only would Campbell have provided the team with a solid backup, but the former first-round pick would have provided competition for Weeden and potentially made a push for the Browns starting gig. Now, perhaps in a decision to avoid any quarterback controvery, the Browns are not expected sign Campbell. While the Browns could be missing out, it's a move that may end up benefiting the Chicago Bears in the long run if they are able to re-sign their backup.
