Seattle arena 'even better' for NHL hockey

08:46 AM ET 03.15 | If seeing is believing, there is renewed momentum for hockey in the Pacific Northwest. The bottom line is as good as this is for basketball, it is an even better building for hockey. ... [We] have designed the seats behind the backboard/goal to retract backwards and the first few rows of courtside seating can be removed to accommodate hockey's larger playing surface and dasher board. The net result puts hockey fans even closer to the action, including our pocket suites. Given the size of the playing surface and speed of the game, we also think the Sonic Rings will prove to be one of the most unique and valued viewing experiences in the game. While I know there may have been a few skeptics out there, I have to say I am just as pumped as most of you to see the return of professional hockey to Seattle.

Guess I'll have to re-post...
Too bad the NHL franchises are all such huge successes and don't thave to be relocated.
As of right now, they have to turn back fans in such hot markets as Phoenix, Florida, etc...

Seattle seems like a market that may wind up over-saturated sports-wise. Not sure if it's capable of being a 5 sport town (MLS is really big there).

Great move the Coyotes there then....or let Jim Balsillie in the old boys club and let him build an arena in hamilton and relocate the Coyotes there.

You can be a footy fan and love hockey as well (Malaga).
Their soccer attendance is somewhere north of 40 000 per game when they expanded the seating...which would put it top 8 in the Premiership and top 5 in La Liga or Serie A.
Guess they like wearing scarves in the northwest...

You <3 Porto.
They fill up that football stadium pretty nicely. Just concerned that with two established teams playing at the same time (Sonics/Hawks), hockey may fall by the wayside.

Hamilton is dead in the water Buffalo will never let that happen. The Coyotes will end up in Seattle, Quebec city and Markham has a better chance to get a team than Hamilton.
