12:39 PM ET 03.15 | Three days after the Daily News reported that the Jets were targeting Mike Goodson to replace Shonn Greene, Rex Ryan's team signed the free agent running back on Friday. Goodson, who played last season with the Raiders, signed a three-year, $6.9 million deal, according to a source. The News reported before free agency officially began on Tuesday that Gang Green would aggressively pursue the 6-0, 210-pound Goodson. Goodson first visited with the Bengals before making the trip to Florham Park on Thursday. The News reported Thursday morning that he stayed overnight with the expectation of striking a deal. After losing four starters from last year's team (Greene, Mike DeVito, LaRon Landry and Yeremiah Bell) in the first three days of free agency, the Jets finally secured a player that is expected to have a significant role in 2013. (Gang Green signed veteran QB David Garrard on Monday).

He's actually going to be the guy throwing the ball. It's a whole new plan for offense. Sexy Rexy style.
