01:34 PM ET 03.15 | On Thursday, Rams coach Jeff Fisher was optimistic a deal could get done with free agent offensive tackle Jake Long. On Friday, Long???s visit to St. Louis appears to be coming to an end, without a deal. Long is scheduled to leave town without a deal this afternoon, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Long has spent three days with the team, taking a physical and going out to eat in St. Louis with Fisher and other team officials. His departure doesn???t necessarily mean a deal won???t get done: It could just mean Long wants to take his time before making his decision, and even if Long is already lining up visits with other teams, in the end he might decide that the Rams are the best fit for him.

Well, maybe the Rams found out something wrong with Jake, injury wise and didn't want to pay the big bucks???

Longs' agent told him to let the Rams sit for a day or so. Just by doing that he'll make another $500,000. He knows that this is his last payday so he's trying to get every penny.
