Carmelo Anthony to test knee in Los Angeles

08:49 AM ET 03.16 | Carmelo Anthony leads the Knicks in frequent-flier miles on this nightmare West Coast trip, but is almost last in shooting percentage. Perhaps Anthony will get a chance to improve that 7-of-27 Western ledger. He rejoined the reeling Knicks Friday, will try to practice Saturday and hasn't ruled out giving it a go on national television against the mighty Clippers Sunday. The Knicks continue labeling Anthony as "questionable." The smarter course of action may be to save him for Monday in Utah when the journey concludes and the Knicks have their best chance of avoiding the humiliation of an 0-5 trip.

Knicks will continue to lose so long as Shumpert starts and plays heavy minutes. Don't waste your time Melo. Take it easy Melo. It's your career. Don't come back to play against the Clips or the forseable future for Woodson. If you mess up your knees you won't be the same player again. Take time off to see specialists... get the root cause of the fluid build up and fix it before you play another game!

That's what's best for you on the organization. The coach is a moron and this team aint going nowhere with or without you so long as Woody decides who gets to play.

Rest your knee and come back stronger next season to audition for your next contract. Unless Woody gets fired as he's out of touch with reality and lacks foresight..

Numbers don't lie... look at the teams' numbers since Shumpert got back! In Woody's shrewed mind Shumpert's struggles will ease as the playoffs approach, team chemistry will improve and the team will go deep. So Shumpert throwing the whole team off is part of the plan...

Nonsense! Don't be a part of that crap.

Hopefully by the time you straighten out your knees we'd get a coach that's not dumb to trade a solid veteran in Brewer to make room for a sophomore.

Be Wise Melo! Don't come back.

The Clippers are likely to beat the Knicks without Carmelo. Then again, I though that the Pacers would beat the Lakers with or without Kobe..............

GROW A SAC and tell him to sit home

Melo is running the show. And he wants to play. I admire his desire to be out there with his teammates, but at some point, you gotta do the smart thing and look towards being ready for the playoffs.

Yes.. he gotta do what's best for him and his family. This Knicks coaching staff and management is probably the worst in the league. And if his knee don't hold up you can trust they will let him walk when his contract is up. Sometimes you gotta take a step back and see the big picture. He's reached a critical juncture of his career when it comes to health, age and productivity.

Don't blow it over this train wreck Melo. The organization and the medical staff don't have your interest.

Please be smart and sit out as long as possible. Get second and third opinions. I mean there's fluid build up, they drain it and tell you go play. That's dumb.

As them what led to the build up in the first place. Get some answers. If they continue playing dumb go over their head and find your own specialists. 10 years from now Melo's career may be over but the Knicks organization will still be around... see the big picture homie!

Do you!

agree with the melo rest -not with the shump-bashIt's not shump's fault that the coach threw him in at the SF position.kid is a guard, woody has this dumb small ball idea fixated in his large cranium.melo IS the SF-start 2 bigs, melo, felton and shumpkidd, smith, copeland, novak and camby- come off the benchno more pable, white....and if novak doesn' t hit a shot within 45 seconds he is on the floor- he should be benched

I'm not mad at Shump. Heck who would say no to a starting gig? It's totally on the coach. Secondly I am against any starting line up with Shump in it because
1. Shump is not an experienced player and it shows on both ends of the court. He shoots more bricks than a canon loaded with mortar so teams double up on Melo and get away with it.
2. On defense because he's guarding 3's they burn him all the time. With a porous perimeter the game becomes very very difficult for all the players especially the bigs.

And don't forget Melo is undersized at the 4 spot as well so opposing 4's go deep into our paint and with that much space their guards penetrate which then forces Melo to come out and close the gabs on these supersonic guards. That's where the whole team gets exposed and scored on easily.

Basketball is a five man game. If there's one weak link which Shumpert is the whole team pays for it. It's been very clear since he got back. I don't know why coach doesn't see it that way. Oh wait...his daughters love Shump because of the Georgia connection so we have to endure his poor play and lose a lot of games.

I guess that's not a bad way to run Dolan's business...

The way to go right now will be to BENCH SHUMPERT. He will be effective against opposing players.

Start

Felton
Kidd
JR Smith
Melo
Chandler

Duh!!!

Willis Reed limped onto the court with a strained achilles, Reggie White played after praying that his achilles would be healed, some guys want to test the waters. He may get it done.

HARD DEFENSE!!! lol. I remember a comment years ago when a guy stated 'that was good defense, but better offense'. Sometimes, hard defense isn't enough.
