01:03 PM ET 03.16 | The New York Jets have paid out cornerback Darrelle Revis' $1 million roster bonus, according to ESPN.com. Revis has been widely speculated as trade bait since the offseason began in February, with many experts believing he will eventually be dealt to a team willing to give Revis a major contract extension. The former All-Pro corner has made it clear he is unhappy with his current deal. However, it's never easy to trade a player coming off a torn ACL injury. Should Revis stay with New York and play out the contract, he is likely to leave the Jets and leave them holding the bag. Knowing this, the team is forced to either spend a mint on keeping Revis or send him packing to the highest bidder.

Revis will be traded but not before training camp opens and he can prove he's healthy...so you get the draft picks in 2014 what's the big deal...this year is gonna be a bust no matter what....!!

actually- they may not even move him til the trading deadline weeks into the season. Which, I agree with you- is totally fine

Revis- if not moved- has to play out his contract anyway or no team is going to pay a 'malcontent' the $$$ he is looking for, going forwards.

The market is soft for Revis and the Jets wouldn't get very much in a trade.

This is kind of turning into a non-story. He's going to have to show that he can still play before anyone is going to risk millions on him. Put this one to bed and come back during the preseason at the earliest.

When has he ever been happy with his contract? I suspect now however he may be looking for the ring. Jets aren't gonna get there so time to jump ship.

I wouldn't say its soft.....
but the fact is- he is going to command a massive contract
and teams are rightly weary of trading for him until they see he can play

I think the jets have gotten some offers already- but are holding out for one that is at least reasonable.

Revis should get himself healthy for the season, and keep a low profile!
