04:29 PM ET 03.16 | With superstars across the league sustaining their production well into their 30's, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban still sees aging big man Dirk Nowitzki as the team's cornerstone going forward. Thanks to modern advances, older players such as Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are still proving able to carry major loads for their respective teams. Cuban sees Nowitzki as the kind of disciplined star capable of doing the same. Even though he's battled injuries throughout this season, the 34-year-old has been rounding into form in recent weeks as the Mavs make a run for the postseason. "He wants to see how far we can take this. What we're seeing now from Dirk is what we can expect to see from him next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. At least," Cuban said.

Don't sign him to a multi-year, big money contract!!! He is still under contract for 2013-14. Free agent in 2014, when he turns 36. Don't go throwing $60+ M at some guy who will be playing at 36, 37, & 38.

Nice! Cuban's wrecked the Mavs the last two years, and as a Lakers fan I am laughing my a** off. Can't wait to see what bonehead move he pulls next. Mavs fans get all mad when I say their Championship was a fluke, but what else is it if you win, then the next years get swept out of the playoffs and are the first ever champion to do that, and follow it up by missing the playoffs? Look up fluke in the dictionary and the Mavs logo come up!
