09:15 AM ET 03.17 | Major League Baseball is lowering the talent pool in Japan, two or three players at a time, and the disparity in baseball economics between the two continents suggests that the number of Japanese imports will only increase. "If it doesn't happen soon, or something doesn't change in Japan, it's not going to work,'' Bobby Valentine, who managed in Japan between stints with the Rangers, Mets and Red Sox, said of what Selig called a real World Series. "The Japanese leagues are being depleted of talent. They haven't taken care of players the way they could have.''

Bud should be more worried about the depletion of talent in MLB. Perhaps he could send the Marlins and Astros to Japan and call it even.

This is true and some baseball fans out here in Japan are worried about this. The young talent pool in Japan is growing though from players out of high school. I just wish that people in the U.S. can see how good some of the players out here are before they go to the U.S.
Only about 5% of players that go to the MLB become good there too.

Having spent a fair amount of time in Japan, I also know there are a lot of top Japanese players who are quite comfortable and content to stay in Japan.

and the reason is? because they can't take the hefty responsability in been a major league players, not because they do not have the big opportunities but rather they have they fear in failling as a major league elements,,,
