10:17 AM ET 03.17 | Big changes could be ahead for the Sabres. As the Sabres continue to struggle to try to get back into the Eastern Conference playoff race after firing coach Lindy Ruff earlier this season, the next step may be an attempt to completely overhaul the club's roster. Despite the denials of GM Darcy Regier, league sources confirmed to QMI Agency Saturday the Sabres are indeed ready to "blow it up" and pretty much every player on their roster is available before the April 3 trade deadline. Sources say the Sabres aren't going to move high-scoring winger Thomas Vanek or top prospects Marcus Foligno, Cody Hodgson or Alexander Sulzer. Nobody would take Tyler Myers' contract, but every player is up for discussion.

Perhaps "blowing up" Darcy would be the place to start?

you can have Myers...between him and chara, they can cover the entire width of the ice just by holding hands.

This is a very generic comment that could be used most mornings.

Yup...Boston finally found their A game....seems when they fight they wake up....and Mike Ribeiro getting his ass handed to him from Marchand was priceless......Ribeiro's 1st ever fight and he fights Boston's tiniest player..Marchands 5'9............real brave of him huh............thats Ribeiro for you..the puke that he is.

I'll pass on Myers..Boston's already breaking in a tall D-man.. ( Hamilton )

Talk like that will have them riding a bus to games.

Also ... expect to hear a very small "pop" and a fizzle when the Sabres roster blows up 'cause beyond Miller and Vanek, there isn't much there.

March 17, 2013  03:50 PM ET

I'd take Hodgson for a 2nd, and maybe Kaleta for the 3rd line even though I hate him.

This comment from a fan of the team I'm guessing where their tough guy (Lucic) ran a goaltender (Miller) last season. How'd that Scott vs Thornton fight go earlier this year ? Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house....

great comment (not) ....let's see if Lucic challenges Scott or hides in the corner again....maybe he'll take on Gerbe this year, at least he's not a goalie....

When you're in the basement, the first lesson is humility. See: Leafs.

I'm well aware of the Sabres position in the standings...my point was a Boston fan ripping on Mike Ribiero for picking on that "little" chespshot artist Marchand....Miller hasn't been the same since Lucic gave him a concussion last season...it was a bush league hit, period.
