Josh McDaniels having more say in Patriots' shopping list?

11:04 AM ET 03.17 | Given the list of offensive players signed by the Patriots the past two years, it would appear Bill Belichick has had some help shopping for the groceries. Plenty of players with ties to Josh McDaniels have turned up in Foxboro, and it sure seems like he has some clout with the hooded one regarding personnel decisions on Tom Brady's side of the football. And that???s fine. The offensive coordinator should know what he's looking for and what he needs for the offense. McDaniels should have input with the head coach, and if you've been listening to former Pats personnel boss Scott Pioli on the NFL Network, Belichick at least listens to suggestions. The way it looks, Belichick has put a lot of faith and trust in McDaniels' views on several of the players he coached both in Denver and St. Louis. McDaniels' batting average, however, hasn't been great. He's swung and missed on quite a few of his guys.

Brandon Lloyd. Yes, McD's batting average is not great and he has yet to hit a home run.

I see the Pats considerably weaker this year. Amendola doesn't replace Wes Welker, and Brandon Lloyd is a big chunk of offense gone.

Nope.
They will again be one of the top scoring O's in the league. With a bit more improvement on the D side of the ball they will once again be a contender.

By the time we got to McD's second year as a head coach, the Broncos had one of the least talented teams in the NFL. McDaniels had a scorched earth policy, getting rid of anyone who 'threatened' his authority. The first draft that he ran was probably the worst in franchise history, including those horrible years in the '60's.

McDaniels is calling the shots? I guess Tebow will be backing up Brady sooner than expected.

If they keep building their defense, they will do well, Brady can make Stars out of average players and All Stars out of Good Players!!!

I'm not sure if you're considering Lloyd a miss, but if you are, his numbers as a #2 option (really #3 after the TEs) beg to differ.

...and then he led them to an upset win over the Steelers in the playoffs after rolling through the regular season and resuscitating a terrible start. But yeah, he sucks.

I think all of us, err most of us, err some of us wish someone would get Tebow a chance and put this to bed

This! Brady has done more with less than anyone I can recall. Not bad for the 199th overall pick out of Michigan.

Just felt like Tebowing Tonight:
What blows my mind is Tebow outplayed guys like Steve Young during his first 2 Years, yes ? Yes they said the same thing about Steve Young, you know that Hall of Fame Lefthanded quarterback who would never make it in THE NFL. ??Steve Young that's pretty heavy! By the way the Team that originally drafted Steve Young, traded him as well after his second year, who do you think is Smarter, The Tampa Bay Bucs or The San Francisco Giants, oh one more thing, ??the Bucs got there perfect pocket passing Quarterback, Vinny Teserverde, let's see who would I rather have Vinny, or Steve? One more thing it took Steve Young 7 Years to develop, should you give Tebow similar time he just might surprise all of us! Tebow won more games, thru more touchdowns and won a game in the playoffs, Young sat and watched. The fact of the matter is Tebow might never get a chance to prove himself, but nobody can take away his accomplishments.
