Matt Forte calls proposed helmet rule "absurd"

07:37 PM ET 03.17 | Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is not a fan of the proposed rule change that would penalize offensive players for running into defenders with their helmet, calling it "absurd." The proposed rule would make it a 15 yard penalty to hit players with the crown of the helmet, but incidental contact with the crown or contact made via the facemask would not be penalties. Proponents of the rule cite player safety as the reason to implement it, but critics claim that it would be too difficult to consistently enforce.

Flag football is next, and it's a 15 yard penalty if you forget to apologize to the player after you've taken his flag after all you don't want to hurt his feelings.
